Woke up after a buddy's critique on my shaving routine and ditched the canned goo

He said 'your face looks like a tomato from that aerosol stuff' (which it kinda did) and I switched to a $7 brush and a soap puck instead. Anyone else get that one comment that made you toss out a whole habit?

A decent boar or synthetic brush runs closer to $15-$20 and will hold water way better, plus it'll last for years. Have you noticed any irritation from the brush itself yet?

Agree that a cheap brush can be rough, but $15-$20 is a bit high for a solid starter. You can find a decent synthetic brush at places like Target or Walgreens for around $10 that'll do the job just fine. Save the extra cash for a nicer soap or aftershave if you're just getting into it.
