My router logged every site I visited for 3 years without telling me
Last month I finally dug into my router settings and found a hidden log file with every single website I'd visited since 2021, including timestamps. My ISP never mentioned this feature was on by default when they installed it, and now I feel like someone's been watching me browse late at night. Has anyone else found creepy data collection built into their home network gear?

Used to think router manufacturers were just trying to help with network troubleshooting or whatever. Then I found the same exact thing on my ISP provided modem last year. Logged every single URL and timestamp going back years, just sitting there like it was nothing. Made me realize these companies are collecting way more than they tell us about. Now I check the settings on every new device before I even plug it in.

Man @felixramirez, that's rough but I get it. Finding years of data just sitting there really makes you wonder what else they're quietly logging. It's wild how much trust we put in these boxes without ever looking under the hood.

Wow, my neighbor found the same thing on his router and factory reset it immediately.
