Serious question, do you actually read app permissions or just click agree?
I was installing a simple flashlight app yesterday and it asked for access to my contacts, location, and microphone. My friend said 'everyone just clicks yes, it's fine.' But I looked it up and a study from the University of Chicago found most people don't review permissions at all. Where do you draw the line between convenience and giving away your data?

That University of Chicago study is pretty telling. I try to check permissions for anything that touches my photos or contacts, but honestly, I probably miss a lot. The line gets blurrier with every update.

Exactly, and it's not just apps. I've noticed this same blurry line with smart home gadgets now. My new thermostat asked for access to my location data, which felt odd, and my friend's doorbell camera terms changed to allow more data sharing after a routine update. You're right, @foster.charles, the permissions creep is everywhere. We're just supposed to click "agree" to use the thing we already bought. It makes that careful checking feel pretty hopeless sometimes.
