TIL my phone was listening through my smart TV remote
Last month I was telling my sister about fixing a leaky faucet, then my Amazon app showed me plumber ads within an hour. Checked the permissions on my TV remote app and it had mic access the whole time. Anyone else find hidden mics on devices they never expected?

Those "hidden mics" usually aren't in the remote itself, the TV's built-in mic is doing the listening and the app just uses that permission. Still creepy either way, but it's more about the TV, not the remote.
