Went out with a guy who bragged about his 'intense hobbies' for 40 minutes straight last Friday, turned out he meant he yells at his gaming team. By the time the appetizers landed, he'd gone from charming to full lecture mode over a waiter's mistake, and I was checking my phone under the table. First date rule I live by now is simple: if they talk about their hobby more than they ask about you, that's not passion, that's a monologue. The red flag isn't the hobby itself, it's how they treat people when things go sideways. If he's angry at the waiter over nothing, that anger is coming for you eventually. Trust your gut next time, it's already telling you everything you need to know.
