My date in Portland last fall spent the whole time talking about his ex's cat

We were at a pizza place and he told me the cat's full medical history, including a $2,000 surgery. It was so awkward I just stared at my slice. Anyone else have a date get stuck on one weird topic?

Read an article once about people oversharing on first dates. Guess some folks just don't know the line between interesting and weird, right?

The cat's medical history probably had more plot twists than our date. At least the pizza was good. I'd have asked if the ex wanted to join us, since we were clearly on her team. Next time maybe he can bring the cat's x-rays for show and tell.

Oh man, this reminds me of my friend's date where the guy spent an hour showing photos of his dog's paw surgery. Laura_scott, you're right, they should just bring the x-rays and get it over with.
