My date made me choose between a fancy steakhouse or a food truck park

I went with the steakhouse because he said he wanted something 'classy', but he spent the whole meal complaining about the $45 ribeye being too salty. Has anyone else had a date get weird about food choices?

Look at it from his side though. Maybe he felt pressured to pick the "classy" place to impress you, then got sticker shock. A forty five dollar steak is a lot if you're not used to it, and complaining about the salt might have been his awkward way of saying he felt uncomfortable with the price. He probably should have just been honest about his budget from the start.

That "sticker shock" idea is probably right, but it's still a bad move. Complaining about the meal just makes the whole date awkward for everyone. Next time he should just pick the food trucks and own it.
