Saw a TikTok once where a barista said black coffee drinkers are the real coffee snobs, it's kinda true tbh. Ordering something plain really does tell you if the place knows what they're doing with their beans.

Drove past a diner last week that had a hand-written sign saying "Coffee: $1.50, Good Coffee: $2.00." I pulled over just to ask the guy what the difference was. He said the cheap stuff was from a can, the good stuff was freshly ground from a local roaster. Ended up ordering both just to compare, felt like an idiot but honestly the good one was way better. Now every time I go to a new breakfast spot I order black coffee first too.
