PSA: I hit a weird milestone on my 47th first date and it kinda blew my mind
So I keep a little note on my phone of all my first dates, just the number and where we went. Last weekend I realized I was on number 47. I mean, it's not a round number or anything but seeing it made me think about how I used to get so nervous on date 1 and now it's almost routine. For anyone else tracking their dating life, have you hit a count that surprised you or made you rethink your approach? I'm curious if I should change something up or just keep going.
Stopped counting after 20 and honestly that's when dating got way more fun for me. I used to treat every first date like it had to be this big event, but after a while I just started going for quick coffee or a drink near my place. That took the pressure off and let me actually see if there was a connection without all the nerves. Sounds like you've built up some real experience, maybe try shaking up the location or activity to see if that changes how you feel.
You ever notice how we do that with everything though... like we turn getting coffee into a whole production when really it's just supposed to be simple.
Yeah totally agree with what @hayes.jake said about turning stuff into a production, like we overthink the simplest things and make them bigger than they need to be. Maybe just switch to grabbing a cheap beer somewhere casual and see if that resets the nerves.
