The 3-day rule is just an old myth from before everyone had a phone glued to their hand. Playing games like that usually just makes you look disinterested.

My buddy Mark waited exactly 72 hours to text a girl he met at a bar. She replied "Who's this?" and he had to start from scratch. He was SO pissed - said he should have just texted her the next morning like a normal person.

The 3 day rule works if you actually made a real connection and she remembers your name, not just a random number from a loud bar. Sounds like Mark's problem was the quality of the interaction, not the timing.
