Stopped being a no-dateworkout snob after one brutal Saturday

Used to swear by heavy gym sessions before a first date, but after a 6 mile hike in Phoenix left me too wiped to focus on conversation, I switched to light walks and stretching. Anyone else realize their pre-date routine was doing more harm than good?

The "6 mile hike in Phoenix" part is where I gotta stop you, because that's not a pre-date routine, that's a full adventure. I get the idea, but I think the problem isn't the workout itself, it's that you went way too hard. My move is a 20 minute incline walk on the treadmill, just enough to get some blood flowing and burn off the jitters, plus a quick shower. That little bit of effort actually clears my head and makes me way more chatty than if I just sat around overthinking. Maybe try cutting the hike in half and see if that sweet spot works better for you.
