That time my date brought her mom along without telling me

I matched with this girl on an app and we set up dinner at a pizza place in Brooklyn for 7 PM. I get there and she walks in with her mom, no heads up at all. She just said "hope you don't mind, my mom wanted to meet you." The whole night was her mom asking me about my salary, my plans for kids, and if I own a car. Every time I tried to talk to the girl, her mom cut in with another question. I ended up making an excuse about a kitchen emergency at my job and left after 45 minutes. Has anyone else had a date bring an uninvited guest and how do you handle it without being rude?

People forget because they get comfortable and don't want to rock the boat. I saw a post where a girl let her boyfriend's friends crash at her place for one night and they stayed for a whole week. She didn't know how to tell them to leave because she didn't set a clear boundary at the start. That's the thing, you have to speak up right away or people will just keep pushing.
