The $140 omakase dinner that ended with me eating alone at a gas station

Last Saturday I booked this fancy omakase place in Austin, $140 for the chef's menu plus I paid for parking and a bottle of water, so like $160 total. He showed up 20 minutes late, then spent the whole meal on his phone complaining about his ex to his buddy, not even looking at the food. I tried to make conversation about the toro and he just said "cool" and went back to texting. I told the waiter to cancel his portion, but they still charged me for the full pair, so I left and ate a hotdog at the Buc-ee's across the highway. Anyone else drop serious cash on a date where the other person clearly didn't care about being there? How do you handle the bill when they're the one who ruined the night?

Next time pay for your half upfront and tell them theirs is on them if they show up and behave. The worst part is they never learn anything from it either.
