The time a date's pet ferret became the third wheel at a fancy Italian spot
Met this guy at Bella Notte downtown, and he showed up with a small travel bag. He said it was for his 'emotional support animal', which turned out to be a live ferret named Frank. Halfway through the appetizers, Frank escaped and ran across three other tables, knocking over a $75 bottle of wine. The manager asked us to leave, and my date spent twenty minutes trying to coax Frank out from under the dessert cart. Anyone else had a date bring a truly unexpected plus-one?

My cousin's date brought a pet hedgehog to a movie once.

Actually sounds like a pretty chill date idea. Hedgehogs are quiet, maybe it just slept in his pocket. Not like it was a parrot or something.

Honestly, that's a whole new level of date weirdness. I read an article once about people trying to bring all kinds of "emotional support" animals into places they just don't belong. Like, a hedgehog is cool and all, but in a dark, loud movie theater? Isn't that kind of stressful for the animal? Seems like the guy was more into making a statement than actually thinking about the pet or the people around him. What was the plan if it got scared and started making noise?
