Used to plan every minute of a first date like a military operation
Now I just pick two options, text them to my date before we meet, and let them choose the vibe, ever since I locked myself into a terrible 4-hour museum tour in Portland that neither of us wanted to be on, has anyone else dropped the overplanning habit?

@the_xena hit it right on the head. Why do we always think fancy means better? I swear half those chef recipes exist just to SELL you something. Keep it real, keep it simple.

Reminds me of when I tried to follow this complicated pasta recipe from a famous chef online. Seven steps, special imported flour, fresh herbs I had to grow myself. Ended up with a gluey mess that took forever to clean up. Next week I just boiled some pasta and tossed it with garlic and olive oil and it was way better.
