PSA: My art looked wrong on the showcase site until I changed one setting

I uploaded my digital painting to an online showcase last week. The colors looked totally different from what I saw on my screen. At first, I blamed my monitor settings. After some research, I learned about color profiles like sRGB and Adobe RGB. I saved my file with the sRGB profile and re uploaded it. Now it matches perfectly on all devices. Please check your color settings before you share your art online!

Wait so you said it looks right on all devices now. Does that include phones too? I always wondered if this sRGB thing was why my photos look weird when I text them to people. Is it the same fix for photos as digital paintings?

Doubt it's that serious, @phoenix_flores. My photos look weird when I text them too, but it's probably just the app crushing the quality. Not sure the same fix works for paintings, lol.

Hey, so does this work for phone screens too? I tried fixing my colors once and somehow made everything look like an old photo from the 70s... I must have clicked the wrong export setting. Sounds like using sRGB is the basic fix for both photos and paintings online.
