Question about color profiles after a gallery display disaster
I had a piece in a local show in Portland and the colors printed completely wrong, looking super washed out. I realized I'd exported the final file in sRGB but the print shop's system was set up for Adobe RGB. I had to rush a corrected version over on a USB drive an hour before the opening. Has anyone else had a print mismatch like that, and how do you check profiles now?

Now I always embed the profile and soft proof before sending anything out.

Embedding the profile first is smart. @loganthompson, do you find that cuts down on a lot of the back-and-forth corrections with clients?

Wait, you guys weren't already doing that? I thought soft proofing was standard for years now... saves so much time on the back end.
