Someone told me my character art looked flat and it actually helped
Honestly, I was working on this fantasy portrait in Procreate for like a week, and a friend just bluntly said 'the face has no depth, it looks like a sticker.' Ngl, it stung, but I started adding way more rim lighting and subtle color shifts in the shadows, and it totally changed the piece. Has anyone else gotten a piece of harsh feedback that actually made your work way better?

Oh man, a client once said my tile layout looked like a "checkerboard nightmare." Brutal, but they weren't wrong.
