Spent $120 on a fancy tablet stand for drawing, now it collects dust

I bought that adjustable tablet stand from the Artisan Pro line back in March because every YouTuber was raving about it. Turns out it wobbles like crazy when I'm doing linework and my old stack of books was actually more stable. Has anyone else dropped cash on gear that looked amazing in reviews but failed in real use?

Man that "wobbles like crazy" line hit home... I had the exact same issue with a different brand. Ended up putting some rubber cabinet liner pads under the feet and it helped a little but honestly I just went back to my old method. What worked for me was a cheap book stand from IKEA and a non-slip mat underneath. Cost like $15 total and it's been rock solid for two years now. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better than the fancy gear.

Dang, I used to be all about buying the expensive stuff thinking it was automatically better, but you and @terry_thomas are making a lot of sense here! That cheap book stand with a non-slip mat sounds like a no-brainer fix that I honestly never even considered. Simple and solid always wins out over fancy and wobbly, I'm stealing that idea.
