Still not sold on AI art generation being real artistry

Spent an hour scrolling through that AI generated gallery post from last week and yeah the images are pretty but I can't shake the feeling it's more about typing good prompts than actually making creative choices. Has anyone else looked at these and felt like something vital is missing, or am I just being stubborn?

Looked at maybe 50 of those images and the same thought kept popping up. That whole "real artistry takes years of failure" thing people say, you know. But with AI you can just type "sad robot in rain" and get something that looks like a cover for a sci-fi novel in ten seconds flat. It's like the process and the struggle are gone, which for me is a big part of what makes art feel real in the first place.

Honestly, the phrase "the process and the struggle are gone" is what gets me too. But here's a question I keep going back to: if you let AI do all the struggle part, does the end result even belong to you in the same way? Like, I get that it looks cool and all, but when you skip the trial and error, aren't you also skipping the thing that makes you feel connected to what you made? It's like taking a shortcut through a maze and saying you solved it, but you never actually had to find your way out.
