That blunt critique from a stranger on my DA portfolio stung but she was right

Someone told me my character poses all looked like they were waiting for a bus, so I spent 3 weeks studying gesture drawing and now my figures actually move. Has anyone else had a moment where harsh feedback turned out to be the best thing for their work?

Three weeks of gesture drawing. Thats dedication. I did the same thing after someone pointed out all my hands looked like claws. I just drew hands for a month straight. 50 a day minimum. Now hands are actually my favorite thing to draw.

Used to think drawing was just natural talent or nothing, honestly. But seeing you break it down like that, just grinding through the bad stuff every single day, kinda changed my mind. Makes me want to try something similar, just not sure my hands are built for it lol.
