That time my entire art file corrupted right before a big deadline
I was finishing a character design for a client in Dallas, had maybe two hours left before the upload, and my main .psd file just went gray with an error message. Turns out I'd been working off a flash drive that failed, and my last cloud backup was from two days prior. Anyone have a go-to file recovery tool that's actually saved your work?

Man, that's a total nightmare. Did you try running a recovery scan on the flash drive itself before you did anything else? Sometimes the data is still there but the file system is messed up.

Flash drives are just the worst for that. My buddy lost his whole wedding photo backup on one, never got it back.

Honestly, I used to think those recovery tools were a waste of time. But a scan actually saved a bunch of my old tax documents last year when a drive went weird. It's worth a shot before you give up.
