Tried a new brush pack for a portrait and the skin tones went weird

I bought the 'Realistic Portrait' brush set for Procreate last week, thinking it would speed up my work. Used it on a client piece and the default color palette made everyone look kind of orange and waxy. Learned that even good tools need a lot of tweaking to fit your own style. Has anyone else had to completely rebuild the colors on a brush set they bought?

Yeah, that's super common with those packs. Read a blog post from an illustrator who said she basically never uses the default colors that come with any brush set. She had to completely redo the skin tone palette on a set she bought because it made everyone look sunburned. The base colors are just a starting point, really. You almost always have to adjust them to match your own lighting and style.

So what does she actually do to fix them?

Honestly it makes me wonder if the brush makers even test the colors on different canvases. Like a color that looks fine on a white background turns totally weird on toned paper.
