Uncle Bob claimed my dad's chili recipe was a secret family heirloom from 1972
Honestly, I found the actual recipe card in a old shoebox at my mom's house last weekend. Turns out it's just a clipped coupon from a 1995 issue of Midwest Living magazine, not some sacred three-generation tradition from a long-lost relative. Now my dad is digging his heels in and swearing his sister mailed it to him special from Ohio. So who's lying here, the ancient recipe scribbled on a napkin or a faded magazine cutout from Rochester, New York?

lol johnflores beat me to it, but yeah a clipped coupon is just brutal. I actually read somewhere that a lot of those old magazine recipes were just reprinted from other publications anyway, so your dad's "secret heirloom" might have a hundred identical copies floating around church potlucks in Ohio. @johnflores is right to be shocked, I'd be mad if my dad tried to pass off a Midwest Living freebie as Grandma's handwritten legacy.
