Found a trick for dried-on egg at my sister's place last Thanksgiving
I was stuck scrubbing a casserole dish that had baked-on egg from breakfast. The hot water and scrubber weren't touching it. My sister said try a squirt of dish soap and a dry paper towel, scrub it like that before adding water. It lifted the egg right off in under a minute. Has anyone else used dish soap as a dry paste like that?

My first apartment I used a butter knife on a Pyrex dish with baked-on egg. Chipped the edge. Ruined the dish. So this trick would have saved me a meltdown and twenty bucks. Dry soap paste sounds weird but desperate times. I'm picturing myself at my sister's place next time, proudly scrubbing with a paper towel like I've got it all figured out. She'll think I joined a cult.

Join the club, @elizabethtaylor. Most cleaning hacks are just fancy ways of saying "scrub harder" but this one actually works. It's funny how the best solutions are usually the most basic ones we overlook.
