Had a talk with my aunt after she went through a bottle in 2 weeks
My aunt came over last week and saw me using a generic lemon soap for dishes. She told me she goes through a full bottle of Dawn in 2 weeks because she uses like 5 squirts per sink load. I always thought I was being cheap with soap but she made me realize I might be using way too little. I only use maybe 2 drops for a full sink and my water never gets greasy feeling. She asked me if I ever actually check if the grease is gone or just assume it is. Made me wonder if I have been living with greasy plates for 3 years and just not noticing. Has anyone else had a relative call out your soap habits like this?

Honestly realized I was the person using too much soap for years. My grandmother caught me drowning a cast iron pan in Dawn once and gave me a whole lecture about how you just need enough to break the surface tension, not enough to make bubbles for days. Tbh I didn't believe her until I tried cutting back and my dishes still came out clean. Ngl I think we all have that one relative who silently judges our kitchen habits and then drops the truth bomb on us.

Oh man, I had the same wake up call with laundry detergent. I was dumping way too much in until my roommate showed me the fill line on the cap. Who knew you were supposed to use that little? Now I just do a tiny squirt of dish soap and let the hot water do the work, works great.
