My mother in law told me my dish soap smelled like a hospital, so I switched to Meyer's
I’ve been a Dawn ultra loyalist for like 8 years. My MIL came over last week to help with a big family dinner and she sniffed my sponge and said it smells like a hospital in here. She recommended Meyer’s lavender and I tried it that night, honestly it cuts grease just as good and my hands don’t feel dry after. Has anyone else had a family member change their soap game with a random comment?

Stick with Dawn. Meyer's smells nice but it leaves a weird film on my pans. Hospital smell means it's actually cleaning.

Oh wow, that is such a specific thing for your MIL to notice! I actually just read an article about how some people are super sensitive to the chemicals in regular dish soap and associate that sterile smell with hospitals. Meyer's uses essential oils instead of synthetic fragrances, so that might be why it smells different to her. I switched to the Meyer's lemon verbena after a friend said my kitchen smelled like a clinic and honestly I haven't looked back. The film thing someone mentioned hasn't been a problem for me, but I do rinse my pans really well with hot water.
