Update: My mom was right about Dawn cutting grease better

For years I swore by the store brand lemon scent from Food City. Told everyone it was just as good and half the price. Last week my mom left a bottle of Dawn at my place after a visit and said try it on the bacon grease. I did a side by side test with two pans. The Dawn broke through the grease in maybe 30 seconds flat while the cheap stuff took a full 2 minutes of scrubbing. Now I feel stupid for arguing with her about it for so long. Has anyone else had a family member force them to switch brands and it actually worked out?

Nah, the cheap stuff works fine if you let it soak.

My stubborn streak cost me 8 years of scrubbing pans, so at least you only wasted a few months. Now I'm the one sneaking my mom's Dawn into my own kitchen and pretending I bought it. Guess moms just know things, even when we're too proud to admit it.
