Rant: My ex just showed up at my kid's school play last week

I was sitting in the auditorium on Tuesday, and I saw him walk in right before the show started. He didn't tell me he was coming, even though we have a set schedule. It threw me off for the whole first act, and my daughter kept looking between us. I mean, it's been eight months since the papers were final. Has anyone else had to deal with surprise visits like this, and how did you handle it after?

Honestly, sounds like he just wanted to see the play. Tbh, people read way too much into stuff sometimes.

Yeah, I read something about this on a parenting blog. They called it "boundary testing," where an ex shows up unannounced to see how you'll react. The advice was to keep it super boring, don't engage during the event, and then send a simple text later like "Hey, for next time, please stick to the schedule so we can avoid confusing our kid.
