Serious question, I thought therapy was just talking about feelings until my lawyer in Charlotte said it helped with custody.
I went for 8 weeks to show I was stable, and the judge mentioned it in the final order. Has anyone else had a professional suggestion actually make a difference in court?

My buddy in Cleveland had a similar thing with his probation officer. They told him to get a job at a warehouse, any job, and the judge cut his community service hours in half. It really did matter.

It's interesting how judges seem to look for that one clear sign you're trying. Makes you wonder if they get tired of hearing excuses and just want to see action. Maybe the warehouse job was proof the guy could follow a simple order and show up somewhere. That basic reliability might matter more than what the actual job is.

Totally get that, it's wild how a simple suggestion can change everything. Like patb12 said about his friend, sometimes doing that one specific thing a pro tells you to do really swings a judge's opinion. Glad it worked out for you and the court actually noticed the effort you put in with therapy.
