The cashier at Target gave me a random high five last Tuesday
I was checking out with just a frozen pizza and some ice cream, feeling pretty down. I guess my face showed it. The lady at the register said 'hey, you showed up today and that counts for something' and held up her hand. I actually smiled and gave her a high five. It was such a small thing but it pulled me out of a bad headspace for the rest of the day. Has anyone else had a random stranger say something that just hit different?

And that's what I love about small moments like that, they cost nothing but mean everything. It's like the universe knew you needed a little nudge right then and that cashier just went with it without overthinking. Do you ever wonder if those random acts are what actually keep people going when things get rough?

Yeah that thing about "costing nothing but meaning everything" really hits home. I had a cashier at the grocery store once who just looked at me while I was having a terrible day and said "you look like you could use a free coffee" and handed me one from the machine. No reason for it, I wasn't even being nice to her. That tiny thing probably saved my whole week honestly. It's like those random acts remind you that people are mostly decent even when everything else feels broken. Makes you want to pay it forward when you see someone else struggling.
