Why does nobody talk about the "gray rock" method for dealing with a narcissist ex
After my divorce last year in Austin, I tried everything to stop my ex from baiting me into arguments during drop-offs... then my therapist mentioned this trick where you make every response boring as dirt. Has anyone else tried this and actually seen their ex lose interest after a few weeks?

Girl, honestly I feel this so hard. @elizabethn56 nailed it - after my divorce last year in Austin, I started giving one-word answers and talking about the weather every time my ex tried to bait me. Took about a month of gray rocking before he stopped showing up early to drop-offs just to start drama. Now he barely looks at me during exchanges and it's such a relief.

The trick that really sealed it for me was timing... I started replying exactly 45 minutes late to every text and showing up 10 minutes late to exchanges so they couldn't predict my reactions.

It worked for me in Dallas. Three weeks of boring replies and he stopped trying to start fights at drop-off.
