Appreciation post: Spending $40 on a proper stud finder saved my entire bathroom tile job last weekend
My old magnetic one kept giving false positives on the plaster, but the new electronic one pinpointed every stud perfectly so I could securely mount the cement board.

Switched to a Franklin sensor last year and it changed my whole drywall game.

Franklin sensors are nice but come on, it's just a stud finder. How much can one tool really change hanging a few sheets of drywall? Seems like a bit of an overstatement.

Idk, I used to think exactly that. Like "it's just a stud finder, what's the big deal?" But then I borrowed a friend's Franklin and @hollyg59 is right, it actually changed my drywall game. The accuracy on deep stuff is way better, I don't have to double check with a magnet or anything. Maybe it's just me but I don't miss those false positives from the old cheap ones.
