Bought a $40 moisture meter for my houseplants. Total junk.

Read the soil with it, got wet readings. Soil was bone dry. Had to dig with my finger to check. Anyone else ditch those things?

Digging with your finger is honestly more reliable than most gadgets out there, unfortunately.

Wait, bone dry and it gave you wet readings? That's wild. I'd be ticked off too.

@jamie_smith I heard cheap sensors sometimes flip readings when they dry out completely.
