Finally got my basement shelves to stop sagging after trying that $2 bracket trick with the angle iron
Had cheap wire shelves bowing under storage bins for a year, then a guy at the hardware store said to flip the brackets upside down so the lip faces up, and now they're rock solid after a month - has anyone else found a stupid simple fix like that which actually worked?

That bracket flip thing is actually genius, I gotta say. I used to think those wire shelves were just garbage no matter what you did, but idk, this kinda makes me want to give them another shot. Maybe it's just me but I always assumed the brackets were one way only, like you couldn't mess with them. Really shows how much I was overthinking it, honestly.

Flip those brackets and you'll end up with sagging shelves and a mess of spilled cans before the week's out.

Used to think it was just a hack that would look terrible, but I tried it last month and it's actually holding up way better than the original setup. Hard to argue with shelves that don't sag.
