I dropped $150 on a stud finder that couldn't find a 2x4

Bought one of those fancy Bosch stud finders from Home Depot last Saturday, and it kept beeping at every spot in my living room except where the actual studs were. After three hours of poking holes in my drywall, I realized my cheap magnetic one from 2019 worked way better. Has anyone else had a high-end tool totally let them down like that?

Didn't I used to swear by those fancy electronic stud finders until I grabbed a $10 magnetic one on a whim? That little thing found studs through plaster and lath where my old Bosch just blinked nonsense. Now I laugh at expensive tech that can't beat a simple magnet.
