My basement sump pump gave out during that big storm 3 weeks ago...
Had to bail out 40 gallons of water by hand at 2am with a bucket and a shop vac before I could get a replacement pump the next morning, anyone else ever have to emergency bucket brigade their own basement?

40 gallons by hand at 2am? That's wild, I can't even imagine having to do that. I mean, my sump pump died once but it was during a small rain so it was just annoying mud, not standing water. The fact you had to use a shop vac in the dark feels like a nightmare. I'd probably have just cried in the corner honestly.

Honestly, I once hauled 30 gallons out of my basement at 3am and wanted to just give up and move.
