My kitchen sink was clogged and I tried the old baking soda and vinegar trick

I was about to call a plumber from Tempe, but I dumped half a box of baking soda down the drain, poured in a whole bottle of white vinegar, and let it foam for 10 minutes. I followed it with a kettle of boiling water and it actually cleared the whole thing. Has anyone else had a weird home fix that worked when you were sure it wouldn't?

Actually sounds pretty smart for cleaning. Vinegar cuts grease better than most store stuff.

The real shocker is that a whole bottle of vinegar still costs less than the fancy spray @foster.charles is probably using. You can degrease an entire kitchen for about two bucks.
