That moment you realize everyone paints their trim wrong

Went over to help my sister paint her living room last weekend. She had all this fancy tape and those angled brushes. I watched her cut in along the baseboard and she was loading the brush with paint like a normal person. But here's the thing. She was painting the trim with the same roller she used on the walls. Thick nap and everything. Left all these little bumps and texture on the smooth wood. I asked her why she did that and she said she thought that's how you do it. No. Trim needs a smooth finish. Use a foam roller or a shorter nap. I've been painting houses on the side for about 4 years now and I see this mistake like every other job. Does anyone else notice people just grabbing whatever roller is closest?

Thick nap and everything" made me cringe, I had the same wakeup call after ruining my own baseboards with a wall roller and had to sand them down. Switched to a 4-inch foam roller for trim and it's been a total game changer.

Thick nap and everything" - I once painted myself into a corner, literally.
