The hardware store guy who saved my plumbing job
Last Saturday I was at Ace Hardware in Akron trying to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. An older employee named Dave saw me staring at the pipe fittings for 10 minutes and walked me through the whole setup without me even asking. Has anyone else had a random stranger at a store totally bail them out on a project?

Gosh, wait - you mean you almost used the wrong PVC cement for your bathroom vent pipe, @sagep19? That could have been a real mess if it had melted or failed later. I'm so glad that True Value guy caught it in time, because those kind of mistakes can cost you a lot more than just the price of the right glue.

That's awesome, Dave sounds like a real one. It's funny how those hardware store guys just know their stuff without you even having to ask. I had a similar thing at a local True Value where a guy helped me figure out I was using the wrong kind of PVC cement for my bathroom vent pipe. Would have been a total mess if he hadn't stopped me.
2
