Thought painting a room would take an afternoon... took me 3 full days instead

I started painting my living room last Saturday thinking it would be a quick job, but between moving furniture, patching old nail holes, and waiting for coats to dry, it ate up my whole weekend and then some. Has anyone else underestimated how long prepping actually takes compared to the painting itself?

Did you factor in the drying time or just the actual painting hours?

Oh wow, I used to totally skip drying time when planning projects. Always thought it was just a waste of extra hours. But after messing up two coats because I rushed, I finally get why waiting matters so much.

Wait, did you count the time between coats too? I learned that the hard way when I tried to rush a bookshelf and ended up with drips everywhere. Now I just factor in an extra hour of waiting time for each coat and it saves me so much rework.
