Update on that spray foam insulation kit I bought last fall

I was sure it would be a messy waste of money, but sealing the rim joist in my basement made a huge difference. My heating bill dropped by almost $80 this January compared to last year. The kit cost about $300 and took me an afternoon, but the draft is completely gone. Anyone have tips for the attic, or is that a pro job?

Attic is totally doable yourself if you can move around up there. Just wear a good respirator, cover every inch of skin, and go slow with the foam. The hardest part is getting full coverage in tight spots behind the eaves.

Yeah, @kim191 nailed it about those tight spots.

The eaves are the worst part no matter how you cut it. I spent an hour on my knees in a 2-foot gap just to make sure I didn't miss any spots back there. A little foam gun with a 12-inch extension tip was the only thing that got me full coverage without smearing it every two seconds.
