Vent: Dropped $400 on a tile saw and it can't handle basic porcelain
Picked up a lower end wet saw from the big box store last month thinking it would handle our kitchen backsplash. First cut on a 12x24 porcelain tile and the blade bogged down bad, leaving chipped edges on every piece. Anyone know if upgrading the blade fixes this or do I need to return the whole thing?

Blade upgrade won't fix a weak motor. Those lower end saws just don't have the torque to push through dense porcelain, especially on 12x24s where you're cutting through more material. Return it and get something with at least a 1.5 horsepower motor if you want clean cuts without fighting the saw the whole time.

Truth. Motor matters more than blade every time.
