Vent: My old way of fixing a wobbly table involved a stack of coasters and a prayer
For about two years, my kitchen table in my apartment in Tacoma was propped up with three coasters and a folded napkin. I finally got sick of it last month and watched a video that said to measure the gap, cut a shim, and glue it under the short leg. I used a piece of scrap oak and some wood glue, and now it's solid. Has anyone else tried a more permanent fix for something they ignored for way too long?

Actually, construction adhesive can be a pain to remove later if you ever need to adjust it. A tight wood shim tapped in dry is usually enough for a table, and you can pull it out easy if you move.

Glad you fixed it but wood glue on its own under a leg is a risky move, it needs pressure to bond right. For a shim you really want to use a dab of construction adhesive or even just wedge it in tight without glue. The wood glue can crack if the leg gets bumped before it fully cures.
