Cleaned my own septum ring at 2am and it turned out decent

Was up late last night and decided to swap out my 14g septum ring for a new one I got off Amazon for 8 bucks. Sterilized everything with alcohol and boiled the ring for 10 minutes. Got it in first try with no blood and the hole isnt angry at all today. Anyone else have good luck with cheap jewelry from online?

Huh, cheap jewelry is a gamble but sometimes it pays off.

Yo I used to be one of those people who thought cheap jewelry was always a disaster waiting to happen. Like I would only buy from piercing shops and stuff because I figured anything under $20 was gonna give me an infection or something. But honestly your experience and a few others I read here kinda changed my mind on that. I got a plain titanium ring off Amazon for like $12 once and it honestly felt no different than the $40 one from my piercer. Not saying I'd buy mystery metal from wish but if it's legit stuff and you clean it right, cheap can work just fine.

Grabbed a similar deal on a retainer once and it held up way better than expected. @keithbennett you're right it's a gamble but sometimes you get lucky, like me not waking up with a swollen nose. Honestly half the time I cant tell the difference between cheap stuff and what I paid way too much for at a shop.
