My $40 caulk gun lesson after 3 blown bathroom seams

Bought a cheap squeeze tube caulk gun because I only needed one tube for a tub reskin, and it kept dripping no matter how slow I went. Pulled it all out after 2 days and found the tube had a crack near the nozzle where the plunger pressure split it, so the gun was never the problem. Anyone else wasted time blaming a tool when the material itself was already toast?
