Duct taped my fridge door shut after the kids broke the latch

Last Tuesday my youngest slammed the fridge door so hard the plastic latch snapped right off. I was about to order a $40 replacement part online but we had tacos defrosting and no time to wait. Grabbed a roll of duct tape from the garage and wrapped it around the handle to the side of the fridge in like 2 minutes flat. It's been holding for almost a week now and honestly works better than the original latch ever did. Anyone else got a duct tape fix that's still going strong months later?

You had me at "tacos defrosting" because I've been there. My dryer vent hose ripped a few months ago and I taped it back together with duct tape, figured it'd last a week tops. It's been five months and the thing still hasn't budged, even with all that heat blowing through it. Did you use the basic gray tape or did you go for one of those fancy colored rolls?

Opened a beer with my pocket knife last week and the blade snapped clean off. Duct taped the broken half to the bottle opener on my keychain and it's been working better than the original ever did.

Huh. That's some next level MacGyver stuff right there.
