My washing machine started shaking like crazy mid-cycle yesterday

I was about to leave for work when the whole machine started hopping across the laundry room floor. Turns out one of the shipping bolts was still in from when I moved it 6 months ago, took me 5 minutes with a socket wrench to fix it. Has anyone else found random packing stuff causing issues way later?

the "foam packing still jammed" thing is exactly what got me... found a wadded up instruction manual stuck behind the drum of my old washer once. it made this weird scraping sound for months before i figured it out. feel like these machines hide little surprises just to mess with us.

Wait, so you're telling me the shipping bolts stayed in for six months? I used to think those things were just there for the box, but after a similar thing with my dryer I totally changed my mind. I had foam packing still jammed between the drum and the back panel, and it made this loud thumping noise that drove me crazy for weeks. Once I finally found it and pulled it out, the thing ran smooth as butter right away. Now I'm super paranoid and always check for hidden packing stuff whenever I move anything heavy.

Tbh did you check your toaster for secret packing peanuts too or is that just me?
