PSA: Duct tape fixed my dryer vent in under 5 minutes
Last month at my buddy's place in Phoenix, his dryer wasn't drying anything and the vent pipe had a huge crack in it. I wrapped it with a few layers of duct tape and some cardboard scraps I found in his garage, and it's been working perfect since. Anyone else got a weird fix that should've failed but didn't?

Hold up, most duct tape isn't rated for high heat and can dry out or melt on a dryer vent. Might wanna swap that for some foil tape before it becomes a fire hazard.

Oh man @johnson.jesse you're totally right about the heat rating thing but here's the funny part - my buddy actually had a roll of that fancy foil tape sitting in his junk drawer the whole time, I just didn't see it. I'm a "grab whatever's closest" kind of fixer and duct tape has gotten me out of so many jams over the years. Like one time I had a lawn mower muffler that fell off and I held it on with zip ties and an old belt for an entire summer, still runs fine. But yeah I should probably tell him to swap it out before his place turns into a Phoenix fireball.
