Used a $15 plumbing snake from Harbor Freight instead of calling a pro for my clogged kitchen sink in Tulsa last Tuesday
I was about to drop $150 on a plumber. Neighbor two doors down said to just rent a snake. I bought the cheap one instead. Took 20 minutes and the drain runs better than ever. Has anyone else had luck with the cheap versions of tools like this?

Honestly, I had the exact same thing happen with my garbage disposal last fall. I was ready to fork over for a plumber but my cousin told me to just try the $15 snake from Harbor Freight. Took me maybe 30 minutes to get it through the trap and pull out a nasty wad of grease and food bits. That thing paid for itself the first time I used it. Ngl, I was skeptical because it feels flimsy in the box, but it held up fine for a single sink clog. I bet if you're doing heavy duty roots or a main line it would snap, but for a kitchen sink it's honestly a no brainer.

Get one of those little plastic drain snakes from the dollar store too. They're like a buck and work great for clearing hair clogs before they turn into a big mess.
